Introduction
Personal effectiveness is the ability of an individual to accomplish their personal as well as professional goals. It encompasses combination of skills, behaviors and attitudes that contribute to realization of success for an individual. Personal effectiveness (Leroy, 2020) significant components entails self-awareness, interpersonal skills, setting of goals, time management, effective communication, adaptability to change and openness to learning. Furthermore, personal effectiveness is closely connected to professional development (Taylor, 2012) as people who enhance skills of personal effectiveness are better positioned for development in career, leadership roles and overall success of the organization. By continuously improving their skills and experiences individuals not only improve their capabilities but also contribute to goals of the organization. Thus personal effectiveness is not only significant for growth of individual bur also play key role in thriving professional journey as well as achievement of sustained success.
The first part of the report covers task one that discusses insights from Genome project being used to evaluate the personal effectiveness of diverse leaders by identifying their key traits and behaviors. The second part of the report include assessment of learning styles through Honey and Mumford questionnaire in context of remote work and online learning, third part emphasizes to assess online platforms for their effectiveness in terms of improving personal effectiveness and finally report culminated with conclusion.
TASK 1
Analyzing CEO Genome to Assess Personal Effectiveness Of Different Leaders
This section highlights business leaders’ personal effectiveness leveraging CEO Genome project which is a study by ghSMART to identify common behaviors as well as characteristics of prosperous CEO’s (Botelho et al., 2017). This project examined traits of successful CEO’s and their key behaviors.
1. Decisiveness:
First, Decision making is decisive for success as decisive CEO’s take decisions earlier with strong view even in situation of uncertainty. Such CEO’s actively approach different perspectives and sometime choose to rely on advisors for accurate views to make wise judgment. For instance Jeff Bezos CEO of Amazon When Amazon was seeing the launch of kindle e-reader there were skeptical views about making investment into device that was untested but Jeff made decision to proceed with the project (Adigwe, 2024) his decision changed the digital publishing and solidified position of the company.
CEO Lacking Decisiveness: Conversely CEO who struggle in terms of decisiveness display indecisive behavior such CEO’s are short of confidence to make prompt decisions subsequently their risk aversion approach restrict them to take possible course of action. CEO’s who fail to engage with stakeholders face difficulty to change so their ineffective communication can also impede alignment of organizational goals and hinder progress. For instance, Sarah Johnson Tech Vision enterprises CEO owning to her indecisiveness searched for input from different departments for technology adaptation. Her indecisiveness resulted unseized potential for enterprise to capture competitive edge (Meadows et al., 2022).
Another example of indecisiveness is global innovation CEO David Miller his reluctance displayed lack of confidence in his judgment which became evident through his reluctance to risk or take strategic advantages (Soumitra et al., 2020)
2. Reliability:
Second, reliable CEO’s are likely to be selected and more likely to perform well their roles such CEO’s set straight and realistic expectations and resist premature actions as reliable CEO’s possess strong skills for planning. For instance Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is praised for his reliability which became evident (Prakash et al., 2021) in his emphasis on delivering value through innovations such as cloud computing as his leadership has changed Microsoft and rebuild trust. Moreover, Mary Barra General motors CEO represents reliability by managing GM (Galunic, 2020) and navigated challenges explosion switch recall crisis.
Lacking Reliability: Conversely, CEO’s who lack reliability face difficulty to set accurate expectations such leaders give preference to their comfort over performance not selecting right team quick enough is common mistake among unreliable CEO’s which also impact the performance of the company. For instance Uber CEO Travis displayed unreliability in dealing with issues like workplace culture and compliance with regulations (Hoffman et al., 2021.) His emphasis on expansion surpassed concerns related to reliability as well as accountability contributed to instable reputation of Uber. Moreover Wells Fargo CEO John was tainted for unreliability (Ragothman and Christianson, 2022) in dealing with scandal of unauthorized accounts by employees of the company.
3. Adaptability:
Third, CEO’s excel in adaptability spend more time thinking in terms of long term up to 50 percent than average other executives who spend 30 percent. They make strategic actions to benefit from changes in the market to great extent like shift in behavior of consumers and tech advancements. Apple CEO Tim cook displayed outstanding reliability by thinking in long terms, enabling Apple to take advantage from market changes (Mickle, 2020) through products and services such as iPhone and Apple music.
Lacking Adaptability: Executives who spend less time on thinking and face difficulty to balance their short term and long term views. They consider delays as failures and repeat mistakes because they missed opportunities for learning. They fail to anticipate changes on time and respond too late to market changes contributing to decline competitiveness. For instance, Yahoo former CEO Marissa Mayer During her tenure at yahoo (Singh et al., 2022) failed to balance short term goals with planning for long term despite she struggled to anticipate change but lost competitiveness to Facebook and Google.
4. Engaging for Impact:
Fourth, CEO’s who excel to engage for impact are expert at adopting open communication and ensure creation of supportive environment where employees feel inspired to make contribution for common purpose. They understand the significance of aligning individuals and team objectives with goals of organization. Such CEO can connect collective work and energy of workforce leading to more productivity and bring desired outcomes for the company. For instance, Walmart CEO engaged workforce by focusing the significance of serving customers. He inspired employees to work for mission of Walmart (Walton, 2020) which based on saving money of people, motivating positive impact at level of organization.
Lack of Engagement: Conversely when visions of the company are not communicated by CEO to its employees can lead to negative results within the company. Employees feel disconnected from the company and their work owning to disengagement. For instance, Theranos CEO Elizabeth (Williams, 2022) faced difficulty to communicate the goals of the company to its employees caused decreased motivation within workforce which led to morale declination among employees. Similarly, CEO of Wework Adam Neumann also struggled to connect with its employees caused lack of direction within the company as members of the team disconnected related to objectives of the company lead to declining morale and motivation (Pendergraft, 2021).

Evaluation of Learning Style
Based on the models of learning style such as Honey as well as Mumford leaning style questionnaire (Oliveira et al., 2020) my main style of learning is pragmatist with 9 score out of 10 showing dominance in this style of leaning.

Strengths and limitations of Pragmatist learning style
Strengths:
• Being a pragmatist I thrive by practical application of what I learn to situations of real world. Through this application problems can be solved effectively as I chose hand on experience to see tangible outcomes.
• Being a pragmatists I feel motivated by learning experience as these experience have direct practical connection to my work and life as I prefer learning related to topics so I can see instant value of, contributing to my levels of motivation and engagement.
• I emphasized on looking for practical solutions to problems instead of over involvement in theoretical discussions (Decuypere, 2019) as being pragmatist I am action motivated person who like to execute ideas and see tangible results.
Limitations:
• While being a pragmatist, I excel in practical application but find difficulty in theoretical discussion as these discussions hold less relevance to practical situations. I find it challenging to engage with ideas that have no connections with real world.
• Being a pragmatist, I easily lose interest and level of motivation decline if learning activities do not possess practical application moreover if content is abstract only.
• Owning to preference for application to practical situation I overlook the value to searching theoretical frameworks this limitation can impede my ability to gain understanding of concepts.
• Being a pragmatist, I have inclination for instant solutions over deep analysis as this trait can contribute to overlooking valuable insights gathered through critical thinking and theoretical concepts (Newton and Salvi, 2020)
In company of software development employees who are pragmatists excelled in applying new frameworks for coding which they learned through online tutorials as their practical approach directed to adoption resulting in efficient development processes that highlight strength of this learning style (Kuhrmann et al., 2017). But Pragmatist learners found it challenging to engage with complex theoretical concepts during virtual sessions on data analytics regardless of practical example participants struggled to relate with abstract content which is impacting understanding and level of interest (Taguchi, 2018). In university pragmatist learners overlooked theoretical parts that works as base for project of research because they focus on implementation practically this contributed to absence of depth in analysis (Oliveira et al., 2023)led to lower quality in academic performance.
Critical Assessment in Context of Online Learning and Remote work
Being a pragmatist I prefer practical application to real world situations instead of theoretical perspectives which make me more suited on activities based on online learning that include hands on tasks and simulations. Moreover, my solution driven approach enable me to deal with challenges in environments of remote working leading (Bowen, 2020) to solutions based on innovation. On the other hand, owning to pragmatist style of learning I encounter difficulty while dealing with theoretical courses as well as abstract courses online which restrict my ability to connect with some subjects. In situations of remote working being a pragmatist I need clear applications of work to keep my interest and motivation. Incorporation of case studies, practical examples into online learning help to connect pragmatist learners well. For pragmatists leaners provide opportunities to ensure application of skills to solve problems as well as decision making through collaborating projects and exercises (Alqurashi, 2016).In conclusion, Pragmatist style provide strengths in terms of practical application and in solution driven thinking but may cause challenges to involve in theoretical material and lead to lose of interest because of absence of content relevancy to practical situation.
TASK 3
Online Platforms Analysis for Developing Personal Effectiveness
In the rapidly changing world of professional development there is rising tendency of people moving towards platforms of online learning to improve their effectiveness. Platforms such as LinkedIn learning and Coursera have become noticeable examples for providing opportunities for constant learning. The objective of this analysis is to assess these platforms emphasizing their strengths and limitations.
A. LinkedIn learning Evaluation:
This platforms stand out for its varied range of courses providing wide ranging selection encompassing different topics which are significant for personal development (Barbeau, 2019). These courses managed by industry experts, confirm quality of content show alignment with standards of the industry at present. Furthermore the interactive features of platform covers assessments, improve engagement and developing dynamic experience of learning. However this platform have some limitations the cost of subscription even though free trial is available but this may ne unaffordable for some people posing hurdle in financial terms to gain access to premium content (Sorensen, 2018). Moreover, courses vast range can overwhelm users of platform, making it difficult to select relevant content which is specific to their requirements. Moreover the vast range of courses may overwhelm people make it challenging to opt a relevant course that is personalized to their particular goals and requirements
B. Coursera Evaluation:
Coursera offers a strong platform with strengths in courses of university as well as specializations. Through partnership with universities internationally this platform offers academic courses and programs for degree further grant credentials for development at personal level. In addition to this through options of financial assistance it encourages inclusivity, ensuing affordability and access to education for all. Moreover structured pathways for learning by Coursera (Nguyen, 2022) like specialization, guidance to people through curriculum that help them to achieve their objectives for personal development. While some of the courses need significant amount of time which pose challenge for people with less availability. In terms of limitations some of its courses particularly those linked with specializations and degrees need a critical commitment of time possibly pose challenge to people with restricted availability moreover Coursera provide academic depth. Courses offered by Coursera offer academic profoundness they concentrate on theoretical aspects and application in practical terms which may not be suitable for people looking for hand on experiences of learning.
Analysis based on Learning Style
As a pragmatist learner, in my learning experience I prefer practical application and relevance to real world situations as both platforms provide resource for personal development but focus of LinkedIn learning on interactive courses and practical courses proves in more alignment with my style of learning. LinkedIn appears to be more suitable platform in terms of my development as it provide environment that matches with my learning (pragmatist) style by emphasizing on practical skills. Based on these evaluations LinkedIn (Yap and Wang, 2015) seems to be more linked to my leaning style providing content which is expert led and offer features for interactive learning. Ultimately selection between these two above mentioned platforms depend on people preferences and their goals of learning.
A pragmatist marketing expert used LinkedIn course for digital marketing to improve skills by implementing learned techniques they developed targeted campaign online contributing in 30% growth in website traffic led to increase in sales which shows how LinkedIn serves the preferences of pragmatist learners for knowledge application (Moldoveanu and Narayandas, 2019). For pragmatist focus of LinkedIn learning on real world courses is engaging. As pragmatist employee apply skills learned from course on marketing to increase sales online, displaying the alignment of platform with pragmatist inclination for learning.
CONCLUSION
In this report relationship between personal effectiveness and professional development explored By delving into significant components that shape core for the sake of personal effectiveness leading to success for person. The review of case study depicted understanding from Genome that further help to underscore the critical traits of successful CEO’s Through project of CEO Genome behaviors, attributes of leadership were highlighted with prominent examples and consequences of leadership lacking these key traits. Afterwards learning style was assessed which provide insights into strengths and limitations of my leaning style pragmatist which was discovered through questionnaire test. Moving on to the part of evaluation learning style was identified and also discussed the analysis by underscoring the strengths and limitations connected to style that helped to develop nuanced consideration towards approach of learning.
The conclusion focuses the necessity of balanced approach by using strengths and addressing challenges for enhanced learning experience furthermore, in context of two platforms were evaluated like LinkedIn and Coursera and analysis was discussed which provided clear link to my style of learning. Learning online and challenges of remote work it was evaluated that how style of learning is aligned while taking challenges into considerations. For instance keeping focus during lectures that prolonged for a period and the requirement for variety in formats of learning as these factors provided path for strategies to optimize the experience of online learning. In conclusion, above mentioned discussion helped to navigate the complexities of effectiveness at personal level and in terms of professional development.
