In SCHOOL- a flash fiction
IN SCHOOL......
“You!, the boy putting on the red pair of glasses”, shouted Mr Matt, our
new music tutor. His oversized trousers and grey moustache always
stood him out, though he was a man in his mid-thirties.
Everyone looked towards the back seat, my favourite spot at that. Me?
I asked, feigning ignorance. “No, not you, but the shadows around
you!” Mr Matt shouted, now looking extremely stern. I could, of course,
hear the giggling of others as they thought it was funny.
Chills ran down my spine, I developed goosebumps which were visible
even to the blind. Standing from my seat, as slow and sluggish as a
snail, all I could mutter was “ errhm errhm”...
“Out of the class now!” ordered Miss Ray, a technical director working
with the principal, as she stormed into the classroom.
“There is an impromptu and urgent meeting with the principal and
every student of Dewhills Junior High“, she said. That was all I needed
to hear, to save me from imminent embarrassment.
“We continue immediately after the meeting", Mr Matt said staring at
my face as if waiting for a response. How on earth was I supposed to
know the meaning of MISODOCTAKLEIDIST?...........
