With the increasing popularity of eSports, video games and mobile games are no longer seen as a

However, only few elite gamers who come out as a winner and eventually make a living out of it.
This creates a new problem where millions of casual gamers fell into the trap of eSports and get
themselves trapped with gaming addiction. This addiction causes the gamers to spend their time only
playing games and ignoring other important things in their lives. If you feel that you might be one of
those addicted gamers, here are 5 ways you can try to cope with your gaming addiction.
Change Your Mindset
Now it might sound easier than it seems, but changing your mindset is important. Somehow you
need to realize that not everyone can become an eSports athlete. You also need to realize that at a
certain point, you will realize that life is not only about having fun. Here, games should only be one
of the methods to entertain you, to keep you away from stress. If gaming is causing another problem
for your life, then there is something terribly wrong going on. Realize that!
Cut The Gaming Time
In dealing with gaming addiction, completely stopping playing games would be the worst idea. It
might create some sort of emptiness inside you which could trigger another level of addiction. The
best way to do this would be to reduce your gaming time li le by li le. If you previously spend hours
on games, reduce the time gradually until you only spend no longer than 1 hour to play games.
Avoid Multiplayer Massive Online (MMO) Games
Nowadays almost every popular games are MMO-based. The social aspects of modern games are so
intriguing that it a racts a lot more gamers compared to the casual games. However, players are
required to spend either a lot of money or a lot of time to progress in these kind of games. As a result,
addiction is inevitable. Switch your games to a simpler one like puzzle games, racing games or maybe
arcade style games.
Change Your Environment
Your environment will play a large part in shaping you. You may want to try new things to keep your
mind and body busy. You may want to try joining a sports club, ge ing a new hobby, or maybe doing
some sort of travelling. The more you see this world, you might realize that gaming is not the only
source of fun. Some interesting things might happen when you try to get out of your current comfort
zone and try new things.
Realize That You Are Not Gonna Live Forever
You may have heard the world ‘deadline’, which implies a due date for a certain task to be finished.
And we, as the people who live in this world, have a certain ‘deadline’ in this world. Nobody knows
exactly how long they are gonna live. But when their time is almost up, most people would think
back and look at what they have done. Whether it is gonna be a joy or regret, will depend on how we
live our life. So don’t make yourself regret one day that you only spend your time playing games. Do
something that your future and past self will be very proud of you.
