Services descriptions
Arthroscopic Surgery: Arthroscopy means a procedure that doctors use to view or treat isolated joint-related problems. Dr. Mark McMahon performs a minimally invasive surgical procedure that is a muscle sparing approach, which means it doesn’t involve cutting through any muscle like its invasive counterpart. This promotes rapid recovery, meaning you will be up and doing in no time. This is majorly used during hip replacement that is indicated when the performance of the hip joint is compromised as a result of arthritis, osteoporosis, fracture, or a congenital deformity. Hip replacement quickly becomes vital and urgent in any of the situations or cases mentioned previously.
Sports Medicine: Dr. Mark McMahon provides, is fellowship trained, and highly-skilled in a wide range of advanced sports medical care techniques. He doesn’t just provide surgical treatments, he’s also involved in the prevention of injuries incurred by sporting activities. Furthermore, he “tends to the wounds” of both young and old athletes. Whether you are a professional everyday runner, fitness enthusiasts, or an average “gym rat”, Dr. Mark McMahon offers the best tailor-made orthopedic care that meets your individual needs. Starting from treatment to healing, and ending with rehabilitation, the good doctor ensures that you are back to your everyday routine and life that you love so much, as soon as possible.
Workers’ Compensation: this is a type of insurance that comes with wage replacement and several medical benefits to workers that got injured during work or a period of employment. This also gives an employee the right to sue a non-complying employer for an act of negligence. This type of coverage or insurance is made compulsory in different states but the medical benefits, however, vary from state to state. Ironically, the policies surrounding Workers’ Compensation Insurance also protects employers who offer such option from being sued by an employee operating under the same ‘umbrella”. Regardless of the state or circumstances, Dr. Mark McMahon accepts all specific state approved Workers’ Compensation Insurance.
No-Fault Insurance: Personal Injury Protection Insurance otherwise known as the No-Fault Insurance covers your medical expenses, and that of anyone else in your car when a car accident takes place. The insurance also covers loss of income resulting from an inability to work after a car accident, regardless of who is at fault in the accident. The No-Fault Insurance is made compulsory in 18 out of 50 states. Many Post-Traumatic arthritides occur after car accidents and in some cases, Rheumatic arthritis can get worse after a car accident. If your joint problem is associated with a car accident and you are covered by Personal Injury Protection Insurance, Dr. Mark McMahon will treat you according to the terms or policies of the insurance.
Ankle: An insignificant number of Americans are born with one or two ankle or foot problems while 3 out of 4 will experience different serious problems on their lower extremities at one point in their entire life. The ankle is a complex joint that includes multiple ligaments, nerves, muscles, and blood vessels, and just three bones, which all have to work simultaneously in harmony to provide movement. If any of these becomes damaged, it could result in a severe localized pain. Dr. Mark McMahon’s years and years of experience in the Orthopedic field of medicine has armed him with skills that allow him to perform reconstructions and any other form of treatment and techniques required to heal several ankle-joint associated problems.
Knee: The knee is the largest joint in the body and is susceptible to varying types of injury. It is formed by four bones and surrounded by muscles that aid movement, ligaments that provide stability, and cartilages that act as a protective covering on the bony ends of the joint. All these work in unison to produce movement in the knee and an injury to the any of these ligaments, like an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tear, which is common among athletes, would largely affect the stability of the joint. Same goes for fractures of any of the involved bones and osteoarthritis, in which both ultimately leads a decrease mobility or a limited range of motion of the joint. Dr. Mark McMahon is one of the best Arthroscopic Surgeons in the States and can perform minimally invasive procedures while providing a world-class care for any type of knee problem.
Shoulder: Shoulder problems are common in the United States, with over 13 million people seeking medical care for a shoulder problem per year. Like the knee joint and most joints in the human body, the Shoulder is a complex joint that has several ligaments, tendons, and muscles involved in forming the functional group of the joint. The head of the humerus, or the ball, is bigger than the socket it enters (the Glenoid Cavity), this type of configuration exposes the Shoulder to all kinds of injury. Dr. Mark McMahon specializes in minimally invasive procedures and arthroscopic techniques that are effective in treating all kinds of shoulder problems including degenerative conditions, sports-associated should injuries, as well as those caused by manual labor and so on.
Bundled Pricing: Also known as episode-based payment, is the reimbursement of health care workers, including physicians, on an episode basis. Bundled Pricing arrangements are set up to pay a number of healthcare providers for a coordinated all sum totals of services provided for a single episode of healthcare. This method of paying has become popular as a means of embracing value-based care without completely submerging healthcare providers in the stumbling-block of financial risk contracts. Here, we welcome such an approach because your satisfaction and happiness is our main goal.
