ADEEL AHMED’S WRITEUP Mentoring a Talent – A Student Development Program by Texpo Cares Texpo Global is a well‐renowned IT group which has developed both repute and rapport within international business circles. The paraphernalia of our business has rapidly grown in areas such as application development, computer networking as well as business and IT consulting. In addition, we have built formidable partnerships with global powerhouses such as Microsoft. We kicked off as a small business enterprise in UK but swiftly spread our presence in other parts of the world such as the Middle East, USA and Pakistan. During this short euphoric phase however, we have never forgotten about our humble yet strong roots and therefore have always provided financial and social support to various organizations and talented individuals. Texpo Cares ‐ Our Social Responsibility Program In every sphere of life, we have facilitated to a large extent for society’s academic enrichment and social development. Although, we are a ‘for profit’ organization but safeguarding the interests of our fellow community members is equally important to us. Besides, we have appropriated a good chunk of our yearly sales for our social commitments because we are sensitive to the community’s everyday challenges. This is all part of our corporate social responsibility program called 'Texpo Cares'. Mentoring a Talent – Motivating our Youth and Nurturing their Talents The Texpo Cares has started a new program called 'Mentoring a Talent' targeting the IT students. The objective of this program is the intellectual and academic enhancement of talented individuals so as to motivate them manifold to develop new skills and capabilities while acquiring their necessary alma mater. Pakistan is the first country where we have initiated this program and is being endeavored by Texpo Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd. The domestic staff at Texpo Pakistan will take bright undergrads under their fall and shall ably assist in beefing up their practical skill set, providing them with adequate exposure to newer technologies as well as career counseling during IT conferences and social interactions. Currently, we are inviting undergrads in their third year to apply for our ‘Mentoring a Talent’ program available on the local website. People who pass our rigorous test will be provided with a 100% scholarship covering their entire college fee/ educational expenses. At the moment we are focused on IT students and given that we succeed in this preliminary initiative then we may provide such opportunities to other college going students as well, hence this shows our commitment and excitement for this social initiative. The Future of Mentoring a Talent The management of TEXPO Global is extremely confident about their program ‘Mentoring a Talent’ and genuinely believes that the local student community, the Pakistani IT industry, as well as the total economy will embrace a new paradigm shift due to this endeavor. This initiative will also be launched in other geographical regions and countries in phases. The commitment of the firm in this regard is consistent and continuous as efforts are underway for further expansion in locations such as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Afghanistan. The main motivation for launching social initiatives like these is to further improve upon our long term business interests in line with the betterment of the local community and their standards of living.
