“Water Benefits”
It is not at all covered by us that being hydrated is important for
our bodies. 60% of human is water and 90% of our blood is water.
This clearly shows that our body is fully dependent on water.
Even if 4% out of that 60% is lost, our body can suffer hydration.
Just even mild dehydration can leave negative impacts on our
energy levels or moods which often results in the form of
anxiety. But if the loss is15% or above, that can be way too fatal!
As we know, we can survive without food for a month-long
period, but in the case of water, we cannot survive if don’t take
it for 3 straight days!
How Much Water Should Be
Consumed Per Day?
Circumstantially, it has been a question to many
people, but unfortunately, there is no specific universal
agreed amount to be taken in daily.
However, there is a “recommendable” quantity of water
to be drunk each day: 6-8 glasses of water which
approximately meets 2 liters or half a gallon, since a
gallon consumes 4 liters.
Now, what if we drink more than the
suggested amount?
Drinking too much water is over –hydration, this
probably makes us busy peeing!
Drinking more water can cause many problems
and those can be dangerous. Just as a few mentioned
below:
● Our blood sodium levels can be out of balance if the
water drunk is more than the kidneys can process.
This is what we call, Water Intoxication.
● More water can wreak our brain and body.
● It can also go as extreme as life-threatening: it
can lead us to death, brain-damaging, and even
commas.
So, drink only when you thirsty. In case, if you
don’t know when you are thirsty (like me), drink a
glass before you are going to start any meal. Plus,
you can also make it one of your goals to drink a
maximum amount of 8 glasses/day. And you would
more often follow it if you take it as a game.
Why Our Body Needs Water?
The need for water in our body is not just for one
reason, but several.
Our body needs water to keep us hydrated so that
everything in our body remains in a constant flow.
Plus, a few of the negative after-effects of
drinking alcohol are also reduced by being hydrated.
If you don’t know our mouth remains clean and
fresh by drinking water. It also even reduces tooth
decay, but only if sugary beverages are stopped
taken in.
Thinking of saliva takes us to germ-killing
imaginations that are in our mouths. Saliva
potentially protects us from diseases, moistens food,
helps in chewing, turns food into food bolus, and
does a lot of other beneficial functions and this
saliva is formed by water!
Cells and organs in our body, work properly until
they have enough water.
Our body waste is often flushed by water, either
in the form of urine or feces.
Water takes oxygen throughout the body, as
mentioned earlier, blood is more than 90% water,
and “blood” takes oxygen to different parts of the
body.
There are tons of other reasons why our body needs
water, they are just unending!
Hydration: Why Is That So
Important?
Our body requires water for maintaining bodily
functions. As, it is obvious that our body loses water:
through breathing, sweating, and urine. Thus, it is
necessary to keep rehydrating our bodies through eating
watery and juicy foods, and by drinking water +
different fluids.
Since we drink water to ourselves hydrated, the best
to check that is the color of urine. If the color is very
pale yellow then that’s ideal, but if the color goes
darker, we probably would have to drink more water
because it shows that our body is not well-hydrated.
Dehydration has quite a lot of effects on the skin, just
like: if we are dehydrated, our skin becomes dry, itchy,
and might also give a dull look. Overall skin tone turns
uneven during dehydration. Skin is more vulnerable to
wrinkles and skin disorders. Hence, water improves skin
health, and for so beauty!
Effects Of Drinking “Unclean
Water”
The role of the quality of water, we drink every other
day, matters a lot. The quality can either let us thrive
or make us ill. Contaminated water, is water that
contains harmful substances that make it impure. If
we drink contaminated or unclean water, we can be
exposed to diseases like cholera, dysentery, typhoid,
hepatitis, and polio.
Despite the fact, that every year, around 5000
children die because of drinking unclean water, people
are still consuming dirty water. Drinking dirty water
results in the symptoms: diarrhea, nausea, stomach
cramping, and stomach aches and pain.
When the dirty water is showered on to fields, the
bacteria in it gets attached to the crops. Whoever
consumes the fresh produce, gets vulnerable to bacteria
and diseases produced by it. Therefore, to maintain good
health and keep oneself safe from diseases, it is
important to use clean water.
Water can be cleaned by the following processes:

1. Boiling
2. Using water filter
3. Adding chlorine drops
4. Using ultraviolet light
5. Distillation
Facts On Water
Water is filled with interesting facts, let us have a
look at some:
● Water makes 60% of a grown-up weight, 83% of
which is in the lungs, and 31% in bones.
● The body of a human being can never store water
unlike animals or plants like Camel or Cactus, but
keep losing instead.
● The average amount of water required per day:
. For men: 3 liters (13 cups)
. For women: 2.2 liters (9 cups)
● When we feel thirsty, our body has lost 1% of its
total water.
● The metabolism that helps in the burning of
calories faster is increased by drinking water.
● Earth has the same amount of water, as it had
when the planet was formed! Now the water
you drink might share the same molecules that
creatures like, dinosaurs drank. Trust it or not, it
CAN happen.
Now, don’t indulge your mind in it!
