Hemp protein powder is made by cold compressing hemp seed. Whey protein, however, is mixed with other chemicals such as rennet, a chemical compound found in animal stomach.
Whey protein also uses xanthan gum, a sugar-like compound used as a food additive. What it does is to act as a food stabilizer and a thickening agent for toothpastes and medicines. It stimulates the digestive tract to push stool out. Whey protein also has glucose, a type of sugar that can raise glycemic load and can increase fat storage.
Whey protein powders also contain chemicals like Taurine, I-isoleucine, I-valine, glycine, and many other chemicals that are not naturally found in the body. Worse, many of these chemicals cannot be absorbed by the body. Furthermore, whey protein powders are known to contain caseinate. These are products produced when separating the milk curd from the cheese. They cause bloating, gastrointestinal distress, and flatulence.
