Introduction
Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) is declared as a pandemic by the world health organization. Global cooperation is needed to stop the spread of coronavirus. Covid-19 spread occurred in a wide geographic area and it also affected a high proportionate population all over the world. The major area affected during covid-19 is the trades, imports, exports, and the supply chain management of goods and services which is more essential for a country or humans. This report aims to identify how Aramax during Covid-19 importing and delivering items and how they treat the pandemic with their strategies.
Aramax profile
Aramax provides logistics and solutions related to transportation services. It is established in 1982 as an operation of the express. Aramax rapidly transformed itself into a global brand that is recognized for the customization of its service and it also offers innovative products with multi-facet solutions. This company offers a variety of services like international and domestic express delivery, consumer retail services with eCommerce solutions, freight forward, integrated logistical solutions, and information and document management solutions.
Since 1997, Aramax became the first Arab-based international company that trades its shares in NASDAQ. After the completion of five years in 2002, it is returned into private ownership and continuously expanded and establish global alliances with stronger brand recognition. In 2005, Aramax has gone public in Dubai financial market with a network of more than 353 offices in the Arab with comprehensive logistics and transportation solution offerings to wholesalers and retailers worldwide.
Importing and delivering items through Covid-19 pandemic of Aramax
According to [CITATION Hob20 \l 1033 ], the delivery and transportation of goods and services during pandemic Covid-19 significantly impacted the world on a large scale. There are many things to consider during a pandemic because Aramax has to consider Covid-19 measures for the delivery and import of goods and services worldwide.
Aramax is providing its services on a global scale it has taken different measures to take the Covid-19 pandemic seriously.
1. Safety measures: The precautionary safety measures that have been taken during a pandemic are if their staff or currier developed flu-like symptoms such as fever or feeling unwell then they can leave the work instantly and do contact with the local medication center and bring the medication certificate to come in the organization.
2. Carriage for delivery: Due to covid-19 situation the delivery of items might be late due to some sort of transportation services. During a pandemic, they can claim for the delivery at the services after 30 days of initiation for the delivery of product and service.
3. Contactless service pickup and delivery procedures: If the customer is not home they will follow the producers of leaving the product with the authority. The currier franchisee will place the delivered product into a safe place and take a photo as proof of delivery. If there is no safe place to deliver the item then an Aramax delivery card will be left providing the further procedure to rearrange the delivery.
4. The use of Contactless sending platform: Aramax also used the contactless sending platforms which are electronic sending platforms MyFastway process. The platform is easy to use by signing up it is fully electronic, self-serviceable. Aramax also provided a payment gateway in the MyFastway portal so it can be easy to upload funds in an instant. It is also suitable for large and small-scale businesses to deliver its product through the portal. The portal is also designed labels on any printer.
Aramax took actions against the COVID-19 pandemic
According to [ CITATION OEC20 \l 1033 ], Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Aramax has taken further considerations for making the business run. Due to covid-19 pandemic issues, there has been a lot of things that significantly happened. The domestic operations have been increases in activity levels of Aramax.
According to [ CITATION Car201 \l 1033 ], four areas should be taken into consideration which can be implemented during Covid-19.
1. Boosting confidence in trade by increasing transparency:
The monitoring and evaluation of Delivery policies and measures that had been implemented in terms of protection during a covid-19 pandemic. The action is taken already from the organization during a pandemic. By providing transparency it is not critical for the people or business to proceed further for the implementation of the task.
2. To keep the supply chain going for essential goods:
It is an essential task for a logistic company to keep the supply of goods and services as a priority. So there is a range of commitments that have to be made based on the supply chain. These commitments are related to the services and supply chain management.
3. Avoided export restrictions:
There are many unavoidable cost in the pandemic which many logistics companies faced during a covered-19 pandemic. To avoid the cost, they have to avoid some export restrictions on essential goods such as medical equipment and food products.
4. Taken beneficial policy actions:
While the countries focused on ensuring the health and economic safety during covid-19, Aramax has focused on the activities for the logistics and supply chain with the covid-19 measures working following the govt. policies.
How Aramax treated the pandemic
According to [ CITATION Ger20 \l 1033 ], Aramax was monitoring the development related to covid-19 and its spread adhering to the rules and guidelines from the world health organization, also with local public health authorities. The travel restrictions in the areas where Aramax operates may change, due to that change in regulation and guidelines the delivery of inbound and outbound shipments might have been delayed at that pandemic time. Aramax, in the time of the pandemic, ensures to work with health measures and safety measures in pandemic and it also ensures packages will be delivered promptly and safely.
Conclusion
This project is related to importing and delivering items through pandemic covid-19 and how they treat pandemic. From this project, it is founded that Aramax has taken several measures related to logistics and delivery of the products. Aramax has delivered its products and services by taking action against Covid-19. It has provided a portal for tracking of goods and services which is MyFastway which was beneficial for the company to show the product delivery date and product description with full information.
From this project, it might be concluded that Aramax has taken care of all the issues and regulations set for the pandemic. It also has taken care of the policy and norms which has been taken for the benefit of society. Aramax should expand its company size to take care of the domestic or international to deliver for logistics and transportation services to lower the cost of transportation and delivery.
