About the Role
We’re seeking a Technical Project Manager to drive efficiency, alignment, and communication across our engineering team, internal, and client stakeholders. This person will act as the scrum master, oversee project management systems, and serve as the primary client-facing liaison for engineering updates. In addition, this role ensures projects run smoothly, client communication is proactive, and our engineers can stay focused on building. The TPM is not just a scheduler; they are a builder of systems and processes that allow the team to scale, run smoothly, and embody our THRIVE values (Trust, Humility, Responsibility, Impact, Velocity, Excellence). By owning client communication and project management, the TPM will free up the Head of Engineering and Lead Engineer to focus on technical strategy and delivery quality.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
- Implement and optimize ClickUp workflows, sprint boards, and reporting dashboards
- Run sprint planning, retros, QA readiness reviews, and backlog grooming
- Track delivery velocity, QA pass rate, and on-time rate, surfacing risks early
- Ensure engineering handoffs are smooth and nothing falls through the cracks
Client Communication
- Be the engineering point of contact for client calls, ensuring clarity, trust, and proactive updates
- Translate technical progress into clear business terms for clients
- Escalate risks and reset expectations early when needed
Scrum Master
- Facilitate async standups(we currently use Geekbot) and ensure follow-ups are actioned
- Drive team retrospectives to identify improvements and systematize fixes
- Protect engineers’ focus time by filtering and structuring client or growth managers asks
Systems Development
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement repeatable systems that improve efficiency
- Own and continuously improve our engineering operations playbook.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to standardize QA, handoffs, and reporting
Requirements
- Experience: 4+ years in project management, preferably in engineering or agency settings
- Organizational Strength: Proven track record of setting up and running project management systems (ClickUp, GitHub, Notion)
- Systems Thinker: Adept at designing and refining repeatable processes for scale
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communicator; able to build trust with clients and engineers alike
- Values Alignment: Embodies THRIVE values in work and leadership
- Certifications: PMP or Scrum Master a plus, not required
