Location & Work Model
This is a fully remote, contract-based role supporting globally distributed teams. The role requires reliable working-hour overlap with teams across the Americas and Europe, plus strong English communication skills.
Base Fee: USD $1,500–$2,500/month + performance incentive
Engagement Type: Independent Contractor (retainer-based)
Who We Are
We build human-centric precision intelligence systems powering digital twins and clinical AI assistants. Our products run on secure, multi-tenant cloud platforms with strong white-labeling, privacy controls, and advanced observability. Everything we ship must meet high standards for reliability, scalability, and safety.
Who You Are
You are a senior technical architect who has delivered complex cloud systems and production LLM or agent-based solutions. You understand multi-tenant design, secure data pipelines, logging and metrics, SLA/SLO management, and AI safety guardrails. You mentor teams, improve platform quality, and work independently with strong attention to detail.
Role Purpose
Own the end-to-end technical direction for the company’s AI-first products, including Digital Twin, CLIA, and wellness apps. This includes architecture, model lifecycle, data, security, reliability, and technical excellence.
Core Outcomes
- Reliable, scalable production platforms with cost-aware infrastructure and observability
- Measurable AI/ML impact through model-enabled features that improve outcomes, UX, and conversion
- Responsible AI guardrails in production, including safety, privacy, auditability, and compliant data flows
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Platform
- Design multi-tenant, API-first, white-label architecture for B2B2C products, event-driven integrations, and modern data platforms
- Manage Azure cloud services, including serverless workloads, vector databases, feature stores, MLOps tooling, CI/CD, secrets, and infrastructure-as-code
- Establish SLIs, SLOs, alerting, runbooks, postmortems, and capacity and cost planning
Applied AI & ML
- Translate product and clinical use cases into model-enabled features such as RAG, agents, multimodal AI, and wearable time-series analysis
- Own LLM safety, evaluation, red-teaming, prompt and model versioning, A/B testing, and metric-to-KPI alignment
- Build pipelines for labeling, weak supervision, retrieval quality, and continuous improvement
Data, Privacy & Security
- Define PII/PHI handling, consent, lineage, retention, and cross-border controls using privacy-by-design
- Support integrations with wearables, EHR/LIS, and payments
- Ensure encryption, key management, DLP, and strong access control
Delivery & Technical Leadership
- Lead technical roadmap, spikes, ADRs, trade-off decisions, and technical debt management
- Mentor engineers, improve code quality, and support team autonomy
- Partner with Product, Clinical, and Sales; assess build vs buy vs partner options; support vendors and pre-sales
Requirements
Minimum Experience
- 4+ years with TypeScript, specifically NextJS and Fastify
- 4+ years with Python and FastAPI
- 5+ projects using Azure PostgreSQL Managed Database, Qdrant, and Cosmos DB
- 4+ years building prompt-engineered pipelines using LangChain, AI orchestration tools, and LLMs including Gemini, Claude, GPT, and Grok
- At least 2+ projects involving Azure Container Apps and Azure Functions
Minimum Qualifications
- 8–12+ years building cloud products and 3+ years as a Tech Lead or Architect
- Production experience with LLMs or agents
- Strong systems design, data platform, API, and security fundamentals
Nice to Have
- Experience in healthcare or wellness, regulated data, on-device ML, voice agents, or Xano/FlutterFlow ecosystems
KPIs
- Availability vs SLOs, time-to-restore, infra cost per MAU, model quality lift, latency, roadmap velocity, and zero critical audit findings
Compensation & Bonus
Retainer: USD $1,500–$2,500/month, adjustable by seniority and scope
Performance Incentive: Annual bonus for consistent KPI over-performance
How to Apply
- Submit two architecture diagrams and a 1–2 page ADR from prior work, plus a Loom walkthrough showing how you production-hardened an LLM feature
- Complete a 16-minute AI-powered prescreen video
- Complete a 3rd-party personality profile
- Shortlisted candidates will receive a small technical assignment
- Successful candidates will interview quickly, with fast offers for top performers
Closing Note
This role is for senior engineers capable of architecting secure, scalable applied AI platforms. Strong technical artifacts and real-world LLM experience are required.
