The Role:

The SPE and Layout Designer is responsible for creating precise photovoltaic (PV) layouts using Aurora. This role ensures all designs adhere to the standards established by the technical team. Once finalized, the designs are uploaded to Salesforce to generate a Solar Production Estimate (SPE), which is used by the solar sales specialists to build proposals for prospective customers. This position plays a vital role in bridging technical design with sales support. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create accurate and compliant PV layouts using industry-standard design software (e.g., Aurora Solar, Pylon, or similar).
• Ensure alignment with the technical team’s layout and design standards.
• Review system constraints, sun hours, shading, and array configurations for optimal output.
• Upload finalized designs to Salesforce for automatic SPE creation.
• Verify the accuracy of generated SPE data and liaise with relevant team members to resolve discrepancies.
• Work closely with the sales, team leaders and onshore technical support team for revisions requests. 

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

• Technical Design Team: For layout compliance and ongoing support.
• Proposal Coordinator: To ensure the design matches the proposal.
• Solar Specialist: To ensure customer satisfaction by presenting them what they actually need and want for the system on their roof.
• Data Entry team: for correction of data in Salesforce 
• Technical/Sales Support Team: For urgent, correction and revisions requests. 

YOU MUST HAVE (EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE)

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or related fields).

Experience: Experience in PV layout design using software such as Aurora Solar, Helioscope, or Pylon is essential. Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.

KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

• Exceptional attention to detail and precision in layout work.
• Strong understanding of solar PV systems and residential design principles.
• Proficiency in at least one major solar design software.
• Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
• Excellent time management and task prioritization skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet daily/weekly deadlines.
• Good communication skills for team collaboration and documentation.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to process improvement.
• Reliable Setup: Stable internet connection and a professional work-from-home environment.

This role is remote and will be performed Wednesday - Sunday 9AM - 5PM (AEST)

Also note the role will be paid $7 AUD p/h at 40 hours p/w due to being and Australian based buinsess.
