Senior Technical Lead ( Remote) full time

Neli Arabi GmbH HQ: Berlin, Berlin, Germany Remote job Apr 7

We are looking for a true builder and technical strategist to join our team as a Senior Technical Lead. This is a role for someone who thinks in systems and takes pride in creating high-performance, bespoke solutions from the ground up. If you prefer using templates or website builders, this is not the role for you. We need an architect who understands the why behind every line of code and can lead a team to execute a vision with precision.

Responsibilities

  • Design, manage, and evolve complex system architecture and service integrations.
  • Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs completely from scratch.
  • Serve as the final technical authority, reviewing and approving code to ensure high standards of quality, structure, and scalability.
  • Lead the development team by making key technical decisions and providing clear direction.
  • Drive the entire production lifecycle, from initial design to deployment and system reliability.
  • Implement structured workflows and documentation to ensure a repeatable, high-signal development process.
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to translate complex requirements into technical reality.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience in backend engineering and system design.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale custom systems without reliance on pre-configured builders or boilerplate frameworks.
  • Deep expertise in Node.js (or similar backend environments) and API orchestration.
  • Advanced knowledge of database architecture, indexing, and performance tuning (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Proven experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong leadership profile with an ownership mindset and a highly organized way of working.
  • Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to mentor junior developers.
  • Experience with microservices, monitoring tools, and incident management in a production environment.

Work Details

  • This is a full-time, remote position (40 hours per week).
  • Productivity and time tracking via Hubstaff is required.
  • There is a 2-month probation period to ensure a strong fit for both parties.
