Senior Software Engineering Advisor - US only hourly

Toka Business is exploring practical ways to make AI more human-aligned.

We experiment with AI models, real-world data, and software systems. We are also building the foundation for a self-evolving, humanized AI system.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineering Advisor to help us make better technical decisions.

You will review architecture, evaluate technical approaches, challenge assumptions, and advise our engineering team. This is an advisory role, not a day-to-day development position.

• Software architecture and backend systems
• C#, Java, and cloud services
• Data systems and infrastructure
• Agentic AI systems and LLM applications
• Prompt engineering and AI workflows
• AI-assisted development using Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools
• Code and architecture reviews
• Technical tradeoffs, risks, and scalability

• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong C# or Java background
• Strong software architecture fundamentals
• Experience with cloud services and data systems
• Familiarity with agentic systems and LLM applications
• Practical prompt engineering experience
• Daily experience with modern AI coding tools
• Direct, independent technical judgment
• Based in the United States

You don't need to be an AI researcher. We want a strong senior engineer who understands how to apply AI to real software systems.

Part-time, fully remote, and mostly async.

No sprint ownership or day-to-day feature development. You may spend a few hours a week reviewing a system, answering technical questions, or helping us avoid a bad decision.
