Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Assistant with expertise in legal research, document review, and contract analysis to support our North American legal team. The ideal candidate has a Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), is licensed to practice law in the Philippines, and has experience with North American legal systems.

As a Legal Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in legal documentation, while providing strategic support to attorneys and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research on North American laws, regulations, and case precedents.
  • Review, proofread, and draft contracts, agreements, and legal documents to ensure clarity and compliance.
  • Assist in contract negotiation and risk assessment, providing legal insights.
  • Manage case files, due diligence, and compliance checks for various legal matters.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external counsel on regulatory requirements and legal strategies.
  • Support dispute resolution and litigation processes, including drafting legal memoranda and pleadings.
  • Ensure adherence to confidentiality, ethical standards, and best practices in legal documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from a recognized institution.
  • Licensed to practice law in the Philippines and in good standing with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP).
  • 5+ years of legal experience, preferably with exposure to North American legal systems.
  • Willing to work North American hours to support legal teams in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Strong expertise in contract law, corporate law, regulatory compliance, and legal research.
  • Exceptional drafting, proofreading, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience using legal software, research tools, and case management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
