Job Title: Senior Integration Developer

Type: Permanent

Location: Global (Remote)

The Senior Integration Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable integration solutions between payroll systems and third-party platforms (HCM, WFM, ERP, accounting, tax, and benefits systems).

This role focuses on API development, system interoperability, data transformation, and automation to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient data exchange. The SID works closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality integrations aligned with business and compliance requirements.

Integration Development

  • Design and build secure, scalable integrations across payroll and external systems
  • Develop API connectors for data synchronization (employee data, payroll, time tracking, tax)
  • Work with formats (JSON, XML, CSV, EDI) and protocols (REST, SOAP, SFTP, Webhooks)
  • Ensure compliance with security standards (OAuth 2.0, SAML, secure data transfer)

Monitoring & Optimization

  • Monitor integration performance and troubleshoot issues
  • Improve error handling, reliability, and system efficiency
  • Implement validation and audit mechanisms to ensure data accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with SOC 2, GDPR, and tax regulations

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

  • Maintain technical documentation, workflows, and troubleshooting guides
  • Conduct training sessions and share integration best practices internally

Collaboration & Support

  • Partner with Product, Payroll, and Implementation teams to meet client needs
  • Collaborate with external vendors for seamless integrations
  • Provide technical support for integration-related issues

Technical Skills

  • 5+ years in software development with strong integration experience
  • Proficiency in Java/Kotlin
  • Strong REST API development and data transformation experience
  • Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID, SAML
  • Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Agile, and testing practices

Core Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience in payroll, HR, or fintech systems
  • Knowledge of payroll compliance and tax regulations
  • Experience with iPaaS tools (MuleSoft, Boomi, Workato)
  • Familiarity with Python or PHP

  • <10% task rework rate due to defects or gaps
  • ≥95% of deployments pass QA on first attempt
  • Maintain ≥99.9% integration uptime; resolve critical issues within 4 hours

Delivery & Time Management

  • ≥85% of tasks completed within sprint timelines
  • ≥90% accurate weekly time tracking in YouTrack

Estimation Accuracy

  • ≥70% of tasks delivered within ±4 hours of estimate
  • Maintain <20% variance between estimated vs. actual effort

Compliance & Best Practices

  • 100% compliance with SOC 2, GDPR, and regulatory standards
  • Conduct 2+ training sessions per quarter
  • Maintain documentation for 100% of delivered features
