The Senior Report Configuration Specialist develops and configures reports within Mercans' Global Payroll Software, HR Blizz. The role works with clients and internal teams to translate complex payroll, compliance, and business requirements into accurate, scalable, and compliant report solutions.

  • Manage the reporting lifecycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, configuration, testing, delivery, and post-deployment support.
  • Translate payroll, compliance, and operational requirements into standardized or customized reports.
  • Build country-specific statutory reports, including tax submissions, wage summaries, and year-end outputs.
  • Apply regulatory updates to keep reports accurate and compliant.
  • Configure reports using MS SQL, Thymeleaf, HTML, XML, Markdown, and related tools.
  • Develop report templates, exports, data integrations, dashboards, and visualizations.
  • Create reusable, parameterized templates that improve scalability and reduce configuration time.
  • Identify platform limitations, develop workarounds, and propose system enhancements.
  • Create and execute unit, functional, and QA tests to validate report logic, compliance, and data accuracy.
  • Work with QA teams to resolve defects and support user acceptance testing.
  • Investigate recurring or high-priority incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
  • Track report defects, resolution times, and SLA performance to support continuous improvement.
  • Partner with clients, Payroll Operations, Compliance, Support, Product, and Engineering teams.
  • Document configurations, calculations, technical logic, and country-specific requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge-base content and support the onboarding and mentoring of Report Specialists.
  • Participate in HR Blizz product, technical, and compliance training.
  • Share best practices and help establish consistent global reporting standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in payroll, HCM, or workforce-management reporting, preferably globally.
  • Strong proficiency in MS SQL, HTML, XML, Thymeleaf, and Markdown.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and pivot tables.
  • Ability to analyze complex requirements, identify risks, and develop accurate, scalable solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, communication, and process compliance.
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with dashboards, visualization tools, Agile methods, SaaS platforms, and cloud payroll systems is preferred.
  1. Maintain at least 98% report-configuration accuracy and 100% statutory compliance, with no audit rejections or penalties.
  2. Resolve and deliver at least 95% of report-related tickets within agreed SLAs.
  3. Develop five reusable country-report templates that reduce configuration time by at least 30%.
  4. Submit at least three reporting automation or enhancement proposals, with two accepted into the product backlog and one implemented by year-end.
  5. Conduct four internal knowledge-sharing sessions annually and add at least five useful entries to the documentation repository.
  6. Deliver one client-facing dashboard or reporting enhancement that achieves more than 90% client satisfaction.
  7. Complete root cause analysis for all recurring or high-priority issues and implement at least two permanent fixes per quarter.
