The Senior Consultant BAU APAC is responsible for delivering end-to-end payroll outsourcing services for global clients across the APAC region. The role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while serving as the primary client contact and driving operational excellence, automation, and continuous improvement.

Payroll Operations

  • Manage end-to-end multi-country payroll processing.
  • Validate payroll data, calculations, deductions, taxes, Gross-to-Net (G2N), bank files, and GL reconciliation.
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and within agreed payroll calendars and SLAs.
  • Complete year-end processing, statutory filings, tax reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and implement required updates.

Client & Service Delivery

  • Serve as the primary client contact for payroll operations.
  • Ensure services remain within contractual scope and prevent scope creep.
  • Manage payroll-related inquiries and provide proactive client communication.
  • Support governance meetings and maintain high client satisfaction.

Client Transition & Hypercare

  • Accept clients following successful implementation and Hypercare.
  • Review client documentation, configurations, and service agreements.
  • Validate payroll setup through testing before assuming BAU ownership.
  • Coordinate with Implementation and Client Success teams for seamless transitions.

Documentation & Business Continuity

  • Maintain SOPs, payroll documentation, wage type catalogs, and change records.
  • Ensure proper documentation of payroll configuration changes.
  • Develop backup resources and knowledge transfer plans to maintain uninterrupted service.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify manual activities and recommend automation opportunities.
  • Work with IT and process improvement teams to enhance payroll efficiency.
  • Track automation initiatives and continuously optimize payroll processes.

SLA & Compliance

  • Monitor support tickets and ensure SLA compliance.
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues.
  • Prepare SLA and operational performance reports.
  • Ensure full compliance with payroll, tax, labor, and statutory regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business, or related field.
  • Professional payroll certifications (CPP, CIPP, IPASS, Global Payroll) preferred.
  • 7+ years of global payroll outsourcing or payroll consulting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of APAC and global payroll regulations.
  • Experience with payroll systems, automation, SLA management, and support ticketing.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, customer service, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Achieve 99.7% payroll accuracy.
  • Maintain 100% on-time payroll processing.
  • Achieve 95% SLA compliance.
  • Maintain 100% statutory compliance.
  • Achieve 90% client satisfaction.
  • Complete 100% payroll documentation and SOP updates.
  • Automate at least 5 manual payroll processes.
  • Ensure at least one trained backup resource per client.
  • Reduce payroll processing time by 20%.
  • Resolve 80% of recurring SLA issues through root cause analysis.
  • Successfully manage 20+ clients or 1,500+ payslips per month.
