ColdProxy is a global proxy infrastructure provider delivering high-performance residential and datacenter proxy solutions. We are expanding our engineering team and are looking for a skilled Rust Backend Engineer to help build, operate, and scale our proxy server and networking systems.
This role is ideal for engineers with strong backend experience who enjoy working on high-traffic, low-latency infrastructure and IP-based systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Rust
- Build and optimize proxy server infrastructure (traffic routing, IP management, authentication)
- Work with IPv4 and IPv6 networks at scale
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and reliability
- Integrate and operate observability tools (e.g., Grafana, ClickHouse, metrics systems)
- Diagnose and resolve complex backend, networking, and performance issues
- Improve scalability, stability, and fault tolerance across the platform
- Support incident response and advanced technical troubleshooting
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams
Requirements
- Proven production experience with Rust
- Strong understanding of backend systems and networking fundamentals
- Experience with proxy servers, VPNs, or IP-based infrastructure
- Familiarity with HTTP/S, SOCKS, TCP/IP, UDP and connection handling
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools
- Ability to analyze and debug performance and latency issues
- Comfortable working in a fully remote environment
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Nice to Have
- Experience working with high-concurrency or high-traffic systems
- Knowledge of Linux networking and system tuning
- Experience with ClickHouse, time-series databases, or large-scale metrics
- Background in infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE environments
