We are a growing pediatric and behavioral health practice looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. You'll own the day-to-day billing cycle — from claim submission through payment posting and denial follow-up — helping keep our revenue healthy and our patients' accounts accurate. If you know your way around payer rules, ERAs, and denials, and you take pride in clean, timely claims, we'd love to hear from you.
- Prepare, review, and submit clean claims to commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare payers.
- Post insurance and patient payments (ERA/EOB), including contractual adjustments and write-offs.
- Work denials and rejections — research, correct, resubmit, and appeal as needed.
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims to keep A/R current.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, and confirm authorizations are in place before services.
- Review charges and coding (CPT/ICD-10) for accuracy and compliance before submission.
- Handle patient billing questions and statements professionally and clearly.
- Keep patient and billing records accurate and up to date in the EHR/billing system.
- Prior medical billing experience (2+ years preferred), ideally in pediatrics and/or behavioral health.
- Strong knowledge of claim submission, payment posting, denials, and the full revenue cycle.
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding, and with EOBs/ERAs.
- Experience with an EHR/practice management/billing system (CureMD, Epic, or similar).
- Understanding of commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare billing rules.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- HIPAA knowledge and a commitment to protecting patient information.
- Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, private workspace (for remote work).
- Experience with Texas Medicaid (TMHP) and clearinghouse tools (Availity, Claim.MD).
- Certification such as CPB (Certified Professional Biller) or CPC.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
You'll be a key part of a supportive, fast-moving team where your work directly impacts the practice's success. We value dependable, sharp people who take ownership and get results.
