Job Description:
The Project Management position shall support the project „Just transitions in vulnerable places – digital solutions for climate resilient informal areas and climate smart urban recovery of communities affected by crisis” in their efforts to developing urban data platforms for evidence-based and participatory decision making in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the New Urban Agenda, focusing on communities in Namibia.
Project Management
Technical Guidance: Support the scoping and defining the content of selected project deliverables with technical and non-technical team members (internal workplan /task briefs).based on user needs, project objectives and available resources.
Project Coordination: Coordinate project team and stakeholder input to ensure the timely delivery of project outputs. This includes the review project outputs and provide feedback to achieve the successful delivery of project indicators.
Project Promotion: Coordinate contributions from the project teams and stakeholders to promote the work of the BMZ funded project. This includes preparing for and hosting relevant meetings, events and engagements in Hamburg with support from administrative staff and project teams.
Project exploration: Based on the outputs of the project and identified user needs, conduct exploratory research and compile proposals for furthering the impact of the project where appropriate.
Project Reporting: Communicate project progress, blocks and needs with Programme leads as well as project teams and technical leads.
Competencies:
Masters degree, in fields related to sustainable urban development such as Urban Planning, Geography, Economics, Pubic or Business Administration, or any similar field or its equivalent in education and/or work experience.
Experience and Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Project Management
A minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of digital solutions for sustainable urban development
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently and adapt to evolving project needs.
Context: Experience working on projects in developing countries, understanding of low-resource environments, and sensitivity to cultural contexts.
