The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, an ability to communicate confidently, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues in the credit process.
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Policy Application:
- Comprehend and apply credit policy requirements to determine eligibility and assess nuances in complex issues.
- Identify potential issues or complications that may escalate to the IC, and flag them in Salesforce (SF) or communicate to the Client Services Manager (CSM) as necessary.
Law Firm Communications:
- Act as the primary point of escalation from the Client Experience (CX) team regarding active applications and the current status of applications.
- Provide clear, concise updates to Law Firms (LFs) about the status, outstanding documents, and next steps, ensuring that LFs understand the process.
- Exercise discretion in escalating matters to the CSM when necessary, while maintaining a deep understanding of the process to handle most issues independently.
Preliminary Review & Analysis:
- Conduct a preliminary review of matters at the "Received" stage to determine which documents are required from Law Firms.
- Identify and assess additional documentation needed when a matter is in court, based on the court's current documentation and process.
- For matters not in court or without available Form 4, request property valuations and title searches based on the information provided by the law firm.
Form 4 Review & Property Documentation:
- Review title searches to identify mortgages and encumbrances, and request relevant information from clients when required.
- Evaluate desktop valuations and request additional valuations or appraisals if minimum credit policy requirements (e.g., two desktop valuations but no CoreLogic or required appraisal) are not met.
- Work closely with the CSM to ensure the accuracy of documentation and assessments by inputting relevant data into summary reports and balance sheets.
Document Validation & Assessment:
- Qualify the validity of key documents such as mortgage statements, valuations, appraisals, and trust account statements in accordance with credit policy requirements.
- Assist in the assessment and verification of documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a paralegal or in a similar role within a legal or financial services environment.
- In-depth understanding of credit policies and legal documentation, particularly in relation to court processes, valuations, and title searches.
- Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interact confidently with law firms and internal teams.
- Proficiency in using Salesforce (SF) or similar CRM software is a plus.
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proactive approach to identifying potential issues and addressing them before they escalate.
- Collaborative mindset, willing to work with various internal teams, including CX, CSM, and legal staff.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the organization, particularly in refining processes related to credit policy and document assessments.
- Empathy and professionalism when dealing with sensitive client matters.
