Marketing & Media Lead hourly

SOSA (Save Our Species Alliance) HQ: Hamilton, Ontario, Canada Remote job Jul 12

We are hiring a Marketing & Media Lead to grow into SOSAs Creative Director. This is a core

leadership hire, not a posting role. We already have great content, a great team, and great partners.

What we need is a leader to add purpose, structure, and cadence so marketing reliably drives our

trips, projects, and partnerships forward.

You will own the Master Marketing Map that coordinates campaigns across every trip, brand

partnership, NGO initiative, and brand pillar. You will sit at the center of our marketing hub and drive

distribution across every platform. You inherit a brand foundation already built, so you build on

momentum, not from zero. You will lead, not micromanage, a distributed team of contractors, and

manage our content and editing teams day to day, making sure every deliverable serves who it

needs to: the influencers we work with, our brand partners and their deliverables, our NGO partners awareness, and SOSAs own brand.

This is a five-year growth role, not a five-month one. SOSA is scaling year over year, moving brand

revenue toward anchor and retainer partnerships and turning our media library into a licensable IP

asset. As we add editors and channel managers, you become the person who leads them, and you

grow into the senior marketing seat in scope, team, and pay. If you want fixed boundaries, this is not

it. If you want to plant a flag, build the function, travel to the field, and lead a brand that genuinely

matters, this is the role.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

Marketing strategy: own the Master Marketing Map and content calendar in Asana; hold a

reliable publishing cadence across YouTube, short-form, carousels, and newsletter; define

minimum deliverable packages and hold the team to them; coordinate SOSA, SOSA

Experiences, and Blake's channels so they amplify each other.

Cross-platform storytelling: map every SOSA story across all platforms; lead storytelling

across our pillars (wildlife, wild spaces, travel, trips, apparel, partners, BTS); translate NGO

initiatives into stories the wider world cares about; protect and evolve the brand voice.

Hands-on content creation: personally cut reels, design graphics and thumbnails, write copy,

and shape promo videos, not just direct; collaborate on YouTube hooks; monitor and respond to

community.

Brand partnerships: help negotiate deals (we do it as a team), then embed each partner's

deliverables into live trips and projects with clear owners and deadlines; brief field teams on what

to capture; move toward anchor and retainer partners; protect usage rights.

Creative direction: hold the creative bar and plan each project so a single shoot serves several

goals at once (influencer, brand, NGO, and SOSA); develop campaign concepts for trip

announcements, brand activations, and apparel drops.

In-field and on-camera: travel to select trips to support guests and drive capture, and represent

SOSA on camera (behind the scenes, in the field, and in curated content).

SOSA ยท Marketing & Media Lead

Performance: track channels, run social listening, and deliver monthly performance reports with

next steps.

Website and store: manage the web developer, make quick Shopify edits, own the store and

site look, co-lead pricing with the COO, and keep thesosa.com converting.

Team leadership: manage and unblock the content and editing teams, keep every deliverable

on deadline, run weekly status updates, keep assets organized, and hire and lead as we grow.
