Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Instructional Designer with strong graphic design capabilities to support the development of high-quality digital learning materials. The consultant will work closely with the instructional design team and subject matter experts (SMEs) to design, structure, and visually enhance course content for online learning programmes on operational support. The consultant will play a key role in transforming raw content into pedagogically sound, visually engaging learning experiences. Work will be scheduled and coordinated by the client’s Project Manager. A skills assessment/test will be required as part of the screening process.
Key Responsibilities
1. Instructional Design
Analyse raw content provided by SMEs and transform it into effective learning experiences aligned with course learning objectives.
Structure modules, lessons, activities, and assessments using instructional design best practices.
Write or refine instructional text, learning objectives, activity descriptions, and assessments.
2. Graphic & Visual Design
Create visually appealing graphics, layouts, and design elements for digital learning materials.
Ensure visual consistency across all learning materials.
Produce visual representations of technical concepts.
Optimize graphics for accessibility and digital delivery.
3. eLearning Development
Support digital learning development using tools such as Articulate Rise, Storyline, or Adobe Captivate.
Integrate visuals, interactions, and multimedia assets.
Edit images and icons for quality and consistency.
4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with SMEs to clarify technical concepts.
Partner with instructional designers to refine storyboards and scripts.
Provide recommendations to improve engagement and visual impact.
5. Quality Assurance
Review learning materials for accuracy, accessibility, and quality.
Adhere to branding guidelines, ensure context-specific relevance, and apply accessibility standards.
Maintain organized version control of design files and deliverables.
Qualifications and Skills
Education
Experience
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in instructional design or digital learning.
Demonstrated experience creating instructional graphics and layouts.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate, etc.).
Strong graphic design skills using Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent.
Familiarity with LMS platforms and online learning standards.
