Job Overview:

As the Liaison and Relationship Officer, you will act as the strategic face of BLS International, driving influence with foreign ministries, embassies, and consular bodies to position BLS ahead of tenders and contract decisions. Your mission: open doors, shape narratives, and ensure BLS is top-of-mind for international visa and consular services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain strong, trust-based relationships with officials from Ministries of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), embassies, consulates, and diplomatic missions.
  • Engage in policy discussions to position BLS as a trusted and preferred service partner in consular and visa services.
  • Understand and navigate foreign policy and regulatory environments to influence market entry strategies.
  • Identify and engage key decision-makers well ahead of RFPs and tender announcements.
  • Represent BLS at diplomatic events, industry forums, and high-level meetings to secure visibility and early intelligence.
  • Build a powerful network of influencers across government and diplomatic circles to create competitive advantages.
  • Monitor and analyze geopolitical developments, procurement trends, and policy shifts impacting international visa services.
  • Track competitor movements and provide intelligence to help BLS stay agile and strategically positioned.
  • Deliver briefings and recommendations to senior leadership to support business growth and bid strategies.

Key Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in liaison roles with a strong background in government relations, international diplomacy, or consular services.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate with senior government or diplomatic stakeholders.
  • Experience working with Ministries of Foreign Affairs, embassies, or international government procurement bodies is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, cultural intelligence, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Attributes

  • Ex-diplomats or individuals with embassy/government relations experience are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Multilingual proficiency and familiarity with international protocols will be an added advantage.
  • A proactive, persuasive, and mission-driven approach to relationship management and strategic influence.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

·        Extensive experience liaising with diplomatic stakeholders.

·        Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, capable of influencing high-level decision-makers.
