Frontend Developer full time

JTW LLC HQ: Portland, Oregon, United States Remote job May 15

What you’ll be doing at JTW.

JTW is hiring a part-time Frontend Developer to support the digital side of our brand and our clients’ retail rollouts. You will work on jtwllc.com, internal asset-management tooling, and the e-commerce content templates we hand off to client teams.

You will partner closely with our design, photography, and post-production groups — the work is highly visual, often editorial, and frequently tied to physical retail launches. Pixel craft, typography, and motion sensibility matter as much as your TypeScript.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain marketing pages and dynamic routes on jtwllc.com using React 18+, TypeScript, and Tailwind.
  • Develop and document reusable component primitives that align with the JTW design system in Figma.
  • Implement editorial layouts, scroll-driven animations, and responsive behavior with framer-motion and modern CSS.
  • Collaborate with photography and post-production on responsive image pipelines, srcset, AVIF/WebP delivery, and DAM workflows.
  • Optimize Core Web Vitals — LCP, CLS, INP — across landing pages, the careers section, and dynamic routes.
  • Ship small internal tools that help our project delivery team track campaigns and assets.
  • Own accessibility for everything you ship: keyboard paths, focus management, ARIA, and screen-reader testing.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years building production React applications with TypeScript, including 2+ years on React 18 or newer.
  • Strong Tailwind CSS (or equivalent utility-first) plus deep modern CSS fundamentals — Grid, container queries, fluid type.
  • Comfortable with Vite, Next.js, or Astro and reasoning about bundle size, hydration, and runtime cost.
  • Track record of shipping visually polished, content-driven sites — not only dashboards.
  • Working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA in shipped code: keyboard, focus, ARIA, and reduced-motion paths.
  • Comfort working asynchronously with overlap inside US business hours (10am–2pm Pacific).
  • US-based and authorized to work in the US.

Nice to have:

  • Experience deploying to Cloudflare Pages, Vercel, or similar edge platforms.
  • Familiarity with framer-motion, GSAP, or scroll-driven CSS animation patterns.
  • Strong Figma fluency — you’re a credible implementation partner for designers.
  • Past work with photography pipelines or DAM systems (responsive delivery, color profiles, alt-tag programs).
  • Familiarity with image-CDN providers (Cloudinary, ImageKit, Cloudflare Images).

Benefits:

  • Pro-rated paid time off, sick leave, and US federal holidays
  • Provided equipment (MacBook + monitor) plus a $750 one-time home-office setup stipend
  • Monthly $80 internet and home-office stipend
  • Annual professional development budget of $2,000 (conferences, courses, books)
  • 401(k) plan with company contribution, available to part-time staff after 90 days
  • Optional QSEHRA health, dental, and vision stipend for part-time staff
  • Two paid trips per year to the Portland studio (travel + lodging covered)
  • Flexible scheduling — choose your working window inside US business hours
