Who We Are

Shae Group is a global AI-first technology and services group building precision AI products across health, wellbeing, education and enterprise. We move fast, prioritize safety and reliability, and use expert judgement plus tooling to de-risk decisions and accelerate product outcomes.

Who You Are

You are a senior technology leader (CTO / Head of AI / Distinguished Engineer) who wants to advise high-impact AI product decisions. You provide concise, high-leverage guidance — design reviews, threat models, eval audits, ADRs and playbooks — and can move between strategy and technical detail. You are experienced in shipping AI at scale, communicating clearly, and delivering artifacts that leaders act upon.

Responsibilities

• Run monthly strategy clinics, design reviews and red-team sessions; produce ADRs, threat models and safety/eval audit reports.

• Produce high-leverage artifacts: reference architectures, guardrail policies, vendor RFPs, and buy/build/partner matrices.

• Be on-call for critical decisions and provide async ADR reviews; contribute to a searchable knowledge base of decisions and outputs.

• Advise on model-quality, reliability, and cost/latency tradeoffs; recommend monitoring, eval and retraining guardrails.

Must-have qualifications

• 10+ years’ senior technical leadership (CTO, Head of AI, Distinguished Engineer) with production AI/ML at scale.

• Proven experience in system design, safety/ threat modelling, model/eval frameworks, or shipping LLM/agent features.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; history of producing decision-ready artifacts (ADRs, diagrams, audits).

Nice-to-have

• Deep experience in regulated health or clinical AI (privacy, DPIA, audit trails).

• Prior fractional/advisory or board-level experience advising engineering/AI teams.

Compensation & performance bonuses

Retainer: USD $500–$1,500 per month per advisor (~6–12 hours).

Hourly (as-needed): USD $40–$90 per hour depending on specialty and region; senior US/EU rates higher.

Engagement term: typically 6–12 months with flexible scope and deliverables.

Payment & contractor terms

Independent Contractor status only. Payment in USD via Wise or bank direct deposit. Monthly invoicing for retainers; hourly invoicing for ad-hoc work. No employee benefits; paid time off available for strong performance and exceeding KPIs.
