Data Engineer (Remote – Pakistan)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Remote
Compensation: $1,000–$1,400 USD/month
Work Hours: Must overlap with US business hours
About the Role
We're hiring a hands-on Data Engineer to build and maintain production-grade data pipelines for US-based clients. You'll own ETL/ELT development end-to-end — from integration design through orchestration, streaming, and troubleshooting — while working directly with client stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain production ETL/ELT pipelines
- Develop integrations across databases, APIs, files, and third-party systems
- Write advanced SQL for transformation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting
- Build and maintain batch and near-real-time data workflows
- Orchestrate pipelines using Apache Airflow (or similar)
- Work with Kafka or other streaming/event-driven technologies
- Support data modeling, data quality checks, and warehouse integration
- Diagnose and resolve pipeline and production data issues
- Communicate directly with US clients to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Document technical work and contribute to reusable integration patterns
What You'll Need
- 3–5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering, ETL, or data integration
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills
- Hands-on experience with ETL/integration tools (Talend, Informatica, Matillion, dbt, Semarchy xDI, or similar)
- Production experience with Airflow or another orchestration platform
- Experience with Kafka or similar streaming technologies
- Experience with Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Databricks, or comparable data platforms
- Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes and a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Prior experience working with US clients or US-based teams
- Strong spoken and written English
- Comfortable working US time zone hours
- Self-directed, with strong project ownership
Nice to Have
- Experience with Semarchy xDM, xDI, or SDP
- Consulting or outsourcing background
- Experience in healthcare, financial services, retail, or other data-intensive industries
- Relevant certifications (Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP, or Databricks)
