About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to support our finance team. This role has a strong focus on invoicing (preparation, sending, and chasing), payroll processing, managing cash flow, and compliance with Australian tax obligations including payroll tax and PAYG.
The successful candidate will also manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, reconciliations, and provide accurate financial support to the team.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this remote-based role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and timely financial information is provided to support decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, send, and chase client invoices in a timely and professional manner
- Record and reconcile day-to-day financial transactions
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Process payroll accurately, including payroll tax and PAYG compliance
- Monitor and manage company cash flow to ensure liquidity and timely payments
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Support month-end and year-end reporting requirements

Skills and Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting or related field
- Minimum 3 years’ bookkeeping experience, preferably with Australian companies
- Proficient in Xero and MS Excel
- Experience in payroll processing, payroll tax, PAYG, and cash flow management
- Familiarity with Australian BAS/GST compliance preferred
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Available to work during Australian business hours
