We are looking for a talented and experienced graphic designer to join our team and enhance our publishing efforts.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented book editor and proofreader to join our team on a freelance basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in either fiction or non-fiction editing, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for helping authors refine their work.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive edits on fiction and non-fiction manuscripts, focusing on content, structure, style, and clarity
  • Proofread manuscripts for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors
  • Provide constructive feedback and suggestions to authors to improve their writing
  • Ensure consistency in tone, voice, and style throughout the manuscript
  • Adhere to specific style guides as required (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, APA)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or related field
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in book editing and proofreading, with a portfolio of published works
  • Proficiency in fiction or non-fiction editing
  • Strong command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with various genres in fiction (e.g., romance, mystery, sci-fi) or non-fiction (e.g., memoirs, self-help, academic)
  • Experience with developmental editing and line editing

Compensation:

Competitive rates are based on experience and project complexity. The payment structure will be discussed during the interview process.
