SummaryWe're an Australian business looking for a reliable Accounts Officer to manage our day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. This is an ongoing role, and you'll be working across time zones with our Australian team, so availability during Australian business hours is required. You'll be working primarily in Odoo and Xero, so hands-on experience with both is essential — please don't apply without it.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
– Reconcile supplier Statements of Account (SoA) to the AP ledger monthly, identifying and resolving discrepancies
– Chase suppliers for missing invoices/copies of bills to ensure the ledger reflects all outstanding liabilities
– Respond to and resolve supplier queries relating to payments, invoices, and account status in a timely manner
– Process supplier invoices for payment in Odoo/Xero, ensuring correct coding, approvals, and payment terms
– Maintain accurate supplier records and support payment run scheduling
Accounts Receivable / Credit Control
– Manage collection of outstanding customer debts in line with agreed payment terms
– Follow up overdue accounts via phone and email, escalating where necessary
– Respond to customer queries regarding invoices, statements, and account balances
– Allocate customer receipts and maintain accurate AR ledger records
General
– Assist with month-end close tasks relating to AP/AR (accruals, reconciliations)
– Maintain filing and documentation for audit purposes
– Support data integrity between Odoo and Xero where relevant (e.g. bill/invoice syncing, coding consistency)
– Identify and suggest process improvements to reduce reconciliation issues and improve turnaround times
About You
– 2+ years' experience in an AP/AR or credit control role
– Hands-on experience with Odoo and Xero essential
– Strong reconciliation skills and high attention to detail
– Confident, professional written and verbal communicator (English) — comfortable chasing suppliers and customers based in Australia
– Intermediate Excel skills
– Ability to work independently, manage a high volume of transactions, and work across time zones with the Australian team
