Job title: Accounting Team Lead

Shift Schedule: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM PHT (1-hour lunch)
We're looking for an Accounting Team Lead who will manage a team of accountants/bookkeepers while ensuring accurate, timely month-end close and high-quality financial reporting for professional services clients. This role is hands-on, reviewing month-end financials, solving complex accounting issues, building/improving Excel workbooks, and partnering closely with the U.S.-based manager to keep delivery consistent and scalable.

Objective of this role:
- Lead and scale a high-performing accounting team (currently 6, with growth potential)
- Improve month-end accuracy and timeliness through strong review and problem-solving
- Strengthen and standardize workflows, templates, and Excel models to improve delivery consistency
- Serve as a reliable problem-solver and escalation point for complex accounting and reporting needs
- Maintain strong communication and alignment with the U.S. manager to hit deadlines and quality standards
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of 6 (and support hiring/ramp as the team grows)
- Review and approve month-end financials, reconciliations, and reporting packages
- Oversee accrual-based accounting across a portfolio of clients, including professional services and legacy non–professional services accounts (revenue/expense timing, project-based nuances, etc.).
- Build, improve, and maintain complex Excel workbooks/models used for month-end and client reporting
- Troubleshoot accounting issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective processes
- Ensure the team adheres to close timelines, quality controls, and documentation standards
- Collaborate closely with the U.S.-based manager: status updates, escalations, and performance improvements
- Monitor time tracking and productivity metrics to support forecasting, capacity planning, and delivery performance
- Required skills and qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience managing a team (people leadership + quality control)
- Strong month-end close experience with accrual accounting, ideally in professional services
- Advanced Excel capability (complex workbooks, formulas, reporting automation/efficiency)
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Desktop (QBD)
- Strong problem-solving skills; can diagnose issues and build practical solutions
- Experience using time tracking platforms and working in delivery/accounting operations environments
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with a U.S.-based manager and deadlines
- Industry experience required (professional services accounting environment)
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Experience leading or improving close processes (checklists, SOPs, templates, controls)
- Experience with multi-client accounting operations (outsourced/fractional accounting model)
- Familiarity with KPI-based team performance tracking (turnaround time, accuracy, utilization)
- Experience supporting process/system improvements across accounting workflows
