Min 1/3/2014: Preliminary
The meeting started at 12.00 Noon with a prayer from Dr. Kangangi. The acting secretary - Peter Thande read out the agenda for the day.
Min 2/3/2014: Reading of the previous minutes
The secretary read the minutes of year 2013 AGM. They were proposed by Perpetuah Gatere and seconded by David Gichamba.
Min 3/3/2014: Matters Arising
A committee had been appointed led by people’s warden to discuss Sacco for the church – to report progress.
Mercy ministry promised to be active in the year 2014.
The church bought 2 plots for Muirigo. However the same will be sold and a bigger plot bought.
Min 4/3/2014: Annual Report from the Chairman
The chairman thanked the congregation for their support in year 2013.
He was grateful that due to every Christian’s participation the church was consecrated in June 2013.
The full report was read verbally by the chairman as attached to the agenda.
The report covered all areas of growth in the church. The members had one minute of silence to remember late Mrs. Irungu.
The professionals who assisted during church construction were appreciated together with development committee chairmen.
A new curate Rev Parin Kabeu was introduced and members asked to give him support.
Rev Peter Gachira was transferred to St. Stephens as the new Vicar for the Parish.
Gibson Waichari was appreciated for taking charge of the teen’s church.
The new lay readers were recognized.
Members were given an opportunity to read the chairman’s report:-
A correction was noted on the price of Muirigo’s plots
Weddings done in year 2013 were noted and young people encouraged to do their weddings in the church.
Harold Shakke proposed the report and L. Kihara seconded.
Min 5/3/2014: Presentation of the Audited Accounts
The treasurer presented the audited accounts for year 2013.
The treasurer Eunice Gachane read the PCC responsibilities while the auditor gave his opinion on the audited accounts.
The auditor took members through the detailed accounts item by item.
Income for the year was KSh 24m against expenditure of Ksh 17m compared to Ksh 19m and Ksh 12m recorded in year 2012 respectively.
Report was proposed by Felicity Kungu and seconded by Maurice Barasa
Queries about Financial statements
Investment – Treasurer explained that Ksh 3m was invested with BRITAM for 3 months to earn interest
A clarification was made on the role of BOF in preparation of Accounts
The role of Development committee in expenditure of funds raised was explained.
Min 6/3/2014: Budget proposals for year 2014
Treasurer took members through the proposed budget in all arrears.
Total Income budget for the 2014 - Ksh 40.7m which is a growth of 43% compared to 2013. The budget was proposed by Shadrack Kamau and seconded by Eng. Gathongo.
Queries on budget:
The current halls will continue being used for school but during year 2015, a separate location will be considered.
For the church to buy the ½ acre we shall sell our 2 plots at Muirigo, raise 5m from harambee and borrow the deficit from Equity bank.
Min 7/3/2014: Presentation of departmental reports:
The chairman asked members to go through the Development committee report and familiarize themselves with what is happening.
Grace Muriuki proposed the reports and Ruth Marigi seconded.
Min 8/3/2014: Report on PCC reports
Members were invited to peruse these reports at will from the office.
Min 9/3/2014: Dissolution of PCC
The chairman thanked members of PCC and dissolved the PCC.
Min 10/3/2014: Appointment of Auditors
Chairman commended Mathara & Associates for the period they have been our auditors. The auditor responded by thanking the church for giving them an opportunity to do the audit. He called on BOF and PCC to be thorough in perusing the accounts. Members agreed to change the auditors as recommended by PCC of the year 2013.
Min 11/3/2014: Elections/Nomination
1. Secretary
Proposed and seconded – Sarah Mwethi, Martildah Mwaura, Lydia Njoroge
Members elected Lydia Njoroge as Secretary for the year 2014.
2. Treasurer
Proposed and seconded - Eunice Gachane and Maurice Barasa.
Members elected Eunice Gachane as the treasurer for 2014.
3. People’s Warden
Proposed and seconded - Isaac Gikeri.
Members agreed to elect Isaac Gikeri but he explained that due to commitments he was unable to continue. Members elected Michael Mburu as people’s warden.

The new elected members were introduced and appreciated.
Min 8: New Auditors
BOF chairman, Dr. Kangangi informed the members that BOF had interviewed some auditors and selected one Kimani Kerrets & Co as our auditors for year 2014. David Gichamba explained that the selection was based on new ideas and experience which the auditors will bring on board. The auditor will cost the church more but believe we will get value for the cost. This was proposed by Dr. Kangangi and seconded by Anne Ngumba.
There being no other business the AGM ended at 2.30pm.
