I have a bachelor's degree in History from the University of Houston, and I am a certified proofreader through Proofread Anywhere. As a self-published author with multiple books, I am very familiar with the many stages of writing, editing, editing again, formatting, and proofreading. I do the editing, formatting, and proofreading for all of my own books. As a park ranger, I have drafted, edited, and proofread a variety of materials for different mediums, from web content articles to social media posts. I have drafted and designed museum exhibit panels and displays; I have written and edited content for children's activity manuals. In my many years as a teacher, I gained a lot of experience correcting the work of others. And as a intern with the Show Me Institute, I assisted with proofreading and editing articles and letters for publication and mailing. I also formatted A LOT of footnotes and endnotes.
