We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert SME with hands-on experience in HVAC-R installation, maintenance, and repair to design, write, and review engaging course content for our HVAC-R Technology Career and Technical Education (CTE) course. As an HVAC-R SME you will be responsible for developing curriculum content, lesson plans, and assessments that prepare students for entry-level careers in HVAC-R. You will ensure all materials are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with U.S. CTE standards, industry best practices, and age-appropriate learning methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and review educational content covering HVAC-R fundamentals, safety, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Create lesson plans, hands-on activities, and assessments tailored for high school learners.
- Incorporate real-world examples and industry practices to enhance student engagement.
- Collaborate with instructional designers to ensure content meets project objectives and standards.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree (minimum) in HVAC-R Technology or related technical field.
- 5+ years of industry experience in HVAC-R installation, repair, and maintenance.
- EPA Section 608 certification (required); NATE or similar certifications preferred.
- Experience developing training materials, lesson plans, or technical documentation (preferred).
- Ability to simplify technical concepts for a high school audience.
